Hey there! Iโm working as a People Analytics Manager at Persado, and Iโd like to learn coding so that I can further advance our people analytics into predictive models, correlation, regression etc. Any suggestions in terms of programming languages / tools? A quick google search brings R + SQL or Python, but any suggestions are welcome Thanks! Ifigenia Geiveli at ifigenia.geiveli@persado.com
Coding for people analytics
Hi Ifigenia, the Devs where I work love Python. SQL is always helpful to know. See if there are any specific languages to the area that you want to know more about (analytics) but both Python and SQL would likely provide great fundamentals which you could then build upon with other specific languages and technologies.
Thank you! Very helpful!
Hi Ifigenia,
R is largely used with data science, which is why your searches are bringing it up. There is a course on this on Coursera that appears to have a good structure. Python is incredibly powerful and perfect for analytics as you can do everything you need to from data collection to analyzing and modeling and then displaying/visualizing. SQL on its own wonโt do all of that.
Coming from the tech industry, myself, Iโd echo Cam and suggest Python.
Kind regards,
Geoff Irwin
